Using your new Evil USB Cable

Hi there, and thanks so much for your purchase of our malicious USB cable built and serviced by the hackers at PhreakBoutique.com. This is a USB-A to USB-C cable with an integrated attiny85, meaning that you can program it to act like a keyboard, type in commands, and do whatever you might need it to do. 😊

These cables can be preconfigured with whatever payload you specify on checkout and yours has been configured according to your preferences when ordered. If you’d like to configure your own payload, here’s how you go about doing that with a Windows system:

1. You’ll need the Arduino IDE to upload the code to the cable: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software
2. Next, install drivers to ensure you can connect: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/digistump/DigistumpArduino/master/tools/micronucleus-2.0a4-win.zip
3. Then we’ll need to add the boards to our installed Arduino.  Follow these instructions here: http://digistump.com/wiki/digispark/tutorials/connecting

Then you should be all set! You can now write your own payloads or get inspired by other payloads which already exist. There are some awesome example payloads you should download to get inspired on what you could do with this cable, you can find these here: https://github.com/CedArctic/DigiSpark-Scripts

If you found an example you’d like to play with or update your cable with – open the script in your Arduino IDE, make sure you have the correct settings (ie Board set to Digispark Default as shown in step 3), and click upload! Arduino will prompt you to plug in your evil USB cable when it’s ready to program it. Once plugged in, it should take just a few moments to upload your new payload.
